CS-AC like to consider themselves well-rounded individuals with interests above and beyond the underwater realm. Often these interests can be found at the bottom of a beer glass........although the main theme is to let rip that inner child.....
Friday Night Shout (FNS) Every Friday night the club meets in a different pub in Bristol for drinks and revelry, the chosen pub is selected on members’ recommendations at the club meeting on Wednesday night, and emailed out to all the members. The Friday Night Shout is Bristol’s longest and slowest pub-crawl. Christmas Party CS-AC hold their annual Christmas party in January or February every year (don’t ask). The Christmas party is the only formal event in the social calendar with everyone in Blacktie or Posh frocks depending on gender and personal choice (don’t ask). The Christmas party includes speeches (short), a raffle (fixed?), and our famous awards ceremony. CS-AC have a number of awards such as “International Relations”, “Left behind” and “Prop F**ker” based on individuals contributions and performance during the year. CS-AC Summer Camp Every summer CS-AC hold an annual camp in Devon or Dorset. We organise a programme of diving using the club RIBs, followed by a BBQ and drinking games. The summer camp is an informal event where divers, families and pets all enjoy the rigours of life under canvas in a British summer. CSACNess Tablets CS-AC has its own bi-monthly magazine built up with contributions from the members, with articles, news, gossip and scandal. The magazine regularly reports on the diving trips and parties throughout the year. Our resident artist produces a comic strip based on CS-Acs unofficial mascot “Muffy the Plankton Slayer”. Impromptu events Throughout the year CS-AC hold a number of impromptu events which have included: Trips to the Dive Show, Brewery trips, Go-karting, Paintballing and anything else the club members want to arrange. |
